Subject: Exception: non-standard-file-perm for backupninja (/etc/backup.d)
Resent-From: debian-lint-maint@lists.debian.org

Hi,

Package backupninja expects configuration files in /etc/backup.d
It also enforces them to have no permissions for group and world. Therefore,
_any package_ that needs to put files in that directory will get a
non-standard-file-perm warning from lintian. I stress the _any package_
part: backupninja itself does not put files there. The exception should
apply to all packages.

Could you please add an exception to lintian to handle this case?

Cheers,

Daniel

PS: the requirement is apparent from function check_perms, line 157 of
/usr/sbin/backupninja
