I agree, it looks like a library error on first sight. I'm not sure

Are you sure Opera doesn't work with Lesstif? It might demand OM and
still work with Lesstif.

What is the result of 'nedit -V'?

IIRC, Woody's NEdit is statically linked to Lesstif, so no problem
like this can come up.
