hi! I think we should reopen this issue. I bought a new cable which seems to contain the same chip as my old one (reports as Bus 001 Device 013: ID 067b:2305 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2305 Parallel Port in lsusb). with this cable, it works from the windows machine, but I have the same problems with my debian sid). I also tried other USB devices on my PC, but all of them work as usual.
