I've now tested this patch, with a package built in unstable with this patch applied, in an etch chroot. (I don't know how to test upgrade with locally built packages in piuparts.) So it's an etch system (with xfonts-wqy 0.7.0-6-1.2), with a single new xfonts-wqy package. Fortunately all dependencies of the new package can be satisfied in etch. I tested the following scenarios: * old version installed, conffile not changed -- remove * old version installed, conffile changed -- move to wqy.conf.dpkg-bak * old version installed and removed (with conffile left), conffile not changed -- remove * old version installed and removed (with conffile left), conffile changed -- move to wqy.conf.dpkg-bak * old version not installed, has a local created /etc/fonts/conf.d/wqy.conf file -- do not touch So it seems working for all cases.
