Out of the 3 disks I have in my desktop, one doesn't support the
hdparm -B 254 command, and I get this in dmesg [*].
Any workarounds? Or is this a problem with the disk reporting it
supports setting accoustic management, but in fact it doesn't
support that (or not in a standard way)?
Thanks for reporting. The message looks scary but is harmless. I'll
have to add checking for hdparm -B support. And perhaps an option to
turn this whole stuff off for specific disks, but I'd like to get the
stuff to work properly out-of-the-box.
No workarounds for now, except disabling the functionality by commenting
out the lines in the config files in /etc/acpi that do this (but please
don't use stuff like "exit" since these scripts are *sourced*, it will
kill the entire calling acpi-support script).
Cheers,
Bart
