linux-2.6 currently allows building using several parallel jobs by setting the DEBIAN_KERNEL_JOBS environment option. It would be great if it could support the parallel=<n> option in DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS. See #209008 (debian-policy: [PROPOSAL] common interface for parallel building in DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS) for details.
