Bug#414575: wine won't start anything

I can no longer launch any wine windows on any of my unstable machines.
I've tried completely removing ~/.wine and running winecfg and it fails.
I get:

Wine 0.9.39 (and maybe 0.9.47) changed some relevant stuff. Is this 
still a problem?

(glxinfo and glxgears work, right?)
