  Weird. The CPU plugin only does some awk magic with lines it finds in
 /proc/stat - no network activity at all, which is the only thing I've
 seen time out before.

  One difference here - the plugin isn't run as root by default.
 Shouldn't matter, though, if a normal user can read /proc/stat (you're
 not using SELinux/grsecurity or something strange like that?).

  Anyway, try this:

  $ munin-run --servicedir /usr/share/munin/plugins cpu autoconf

  The "suggest" parameter is only used for the so-called wildcard
 plugins (name ending with _), so that shouldn't be relevant.

  If it hangs under munin-run, could you please try to add 'set -x' to
 near the top of /usr/share/munin/plugins/cpu, try again, and send me
 the output?

Thanks,
