Weird. Shouldn't matter, though, if a normal user can read /proc/stat (you're not using SELinux/grsecurity or something strange like that?). Anyway, try this: $ munin-run --servicedir /usr/share/munin/plugins cpu autoconf The "suggest" parameter is only used for the so-called wildcard plugins (name ending with _), so that shouldn't be relevant. If it hangs under munin-run, could you please try to add 'set -x' to near the top of /usr/share/munin/plugins/cpu, try again, and send me the output?
