This is on a plain etch system. Running a GNOME session, I installed Inkscape and discovered that on nautilus right-click on an SVG (just created by Inkscape) doesn't show the option to edit the file in Inkscape. FWIW, `see $FILE.svg` launches Inkscape, thus this could be a GNOME problem, please reassign it accordingly.
