Package: libc-client2006j2
Version: 7:2006j2.dfsg-3
Followup-For: Bug #450665

Adding to Justin Pryzby's bugreport. libc-client is a bit too undifferentiated
about the /var/mail permissions:

$ ls -la /var/|grep mail
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root     root       10 Feb  4  2007 mail -> spool/mail
$ ls -la /var/spool/|grep mail
drwxrwxr-t  2 root  mail   4096 Dec 24 09:36 mail

So actually the directory permissions here are *more* strict than what
libc-client wants. Never the less:

$ mailsync       # using libc-client
Synchronizing stores "mail-inbox" <-> "sp-inbox"...
Authorizing against {eisberg/imap}

 *** INBOX ***

 Warning: %Mailbox vulnerable - directory /var/mail must have 1777
 protection
