Accidently closed the bug report with my last email. But then again, I think hal's behaviour in this case is correct so closing the bug report was ok after all. The package shouldn't just silently install leaving you with a non-functioning hal installation. That the installation aborted gave you a clear hint that something with your system was not in order (borked system dbus) and allowed you to fix it. Much better than hal silently upgrading without notice. Cheers, Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
