Package: courier-imap Version: 4.3.0-1. Severity: important
After the recent upgrade, icedove (thunderbird) cannot usefully access my mailbox. It seems to log in, but all mail messages appear blank. I know that icedove works, because it can access my mail at work via IMAP. I had a working installation which stopped after the upgrade. I then purged and used out-of-the-box courier-imap-ssl and courier-imap, and get similar behavior. When I try to log in on port 143 via the "TLS" setting on icedove, I get the error "Checking mail server capabilities" then "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Error in IMAP command received by server.." [OK] The same happens when I click on a message. If I try logging in with TLS set to "Never", It says "Login to server 127.0.0.1 failed" [OK] then gives me an "Enter your password" box. Then, when I type a password, the box silently disappears, but I have no obvious access. If I change to using SSL on port 993, then I apparently can see the folder listing, but all messages appear blank. Again, icedove works perfectly when connected to my work IMAP server. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages courier-imap depends on: ii courier-authlib 0.60.1-1 Courier authentication library ii courier-base 0.58.0-1 Courier mail server - base system ii exim4 4.68-2 meta-package to ease Exim MTA (v4) ii exim4-daemon-heavy [mail-tran 4.68-2 Exim MTA (v4) daemon with extended ii libc6 2.7-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgamin0 [libfam0] 0.1.9-2 Client library for the gamin file ii libgdbm3 1.8.3-3 GNU dbm database routines (runtime courier-imap recommends no packages. -- debconf information: courier-imap/moveconfig: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
