This looks similar to the problem I reported in #454996. Does the problem go
away if you remove or rename
~/.openoffice.org2/user/config/javasettings_Linux_x86.xml and restart
OpenOffice.org?
Removing the file has helped. Thanks. Bug 456993 is a duplicate of bug
454996.
