Hi folks,

I wanted to check on the status of this bug from last April and see if
anything had changed or if you're still stuck in the same situation.  To
recap:

I'm still not sure what could be causing this problem, but one thing that
you could try are the OpenAFS client packages on backports.org, if this is
still an issue.  They're newer and contain some additional fixes over the
version in etch, and it's possible that one of those fixes would have
addressed this problem.

I still have never seen this problem at Stanford, and we use that kernel
and various different versions of OpenAFS pretty widely.
