I notice that FreeBSD, NetBSD, DragonFly BSD, which all use the Almquist
shell for their /bin/sh, have analogous changes in their versions.  (I
don't know who is the upstream for dash, though.)  Perhaps one or
another of their changes is preferable to mine; I can't tell.
