retitle 456821 allow whitespace delimiters in incrontab files
severity 456821 normal
thanks

The problem is a little worse than I realized at first. Between the 2nd
and 3rd fields of each line, the delimiter has to be exactly one space--
nothing else. If, for example, you put two blank spaces, then the 2nd
space becomes the first character of the command to execute, so the
command fails.

This seems like too strong a restriction on the field delimiters. It's
bound to cause some incrontabs to fail, especially if users don't choose
to use incrontab(1). It would seem to be easy and useful to allow any
combination of whitespace between the fields on each line.

Thanks,
A.S.
