That's not GNOME. It's 3 libraries that are part of GNOME. Perhaps you'd also like to complain about libart, glib, and gtk. They're part of GNOME, too. Oh wait, but glib is part of KDE, too. Does that mean swf-player depends on KDE? (Er, now that I've had my fun, I'll stop being a jackass.) libswfdec and swf-player depend on the packages they do because they need certain functionality. The libraries provide this functionality. If you'd like to decrease functionality (say, by disabling sound and/or video), you can decrease the number of packages swfdec depends on. Alternatively, you can reimplement the functionality in swfdec or yet another library. I'm unlikely to accept such patches, though, because that would be actual bloat. Would you like to close the bug, or shall I? dave... -- David Schleef Big Kitten LLC (http://www.bigkitten.com/) -- data acquisition on Linux -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
