It would be very nice to build this debugging package (see [1] for help). Your analysis looks good to me, but I'd like to get a full debugging backtrace before reporting the problem upstream. Also, this problem did not occur with xserver-xorg-core and xserver-xorg-video-sunffb from testing, right?
