I have VMWare, but have no idea how to debug the problem. I don't have enough experience to debug X applications at such a low-level. If you propose a path of investigation, I will glady follow it and report here.

Now I have vmware since I downloaded it.

I can't reproduce it. It seems that Ctrl+g is not grabbed if the mouse
is on the virtual-computer-screen (I need to click on this screen to be
grabbed) but it is grabbed correctly otherwise.

The grab was never really a problem. It works fine when I use the mouse but I get so used to the Ctrl+G/Ctrl-Alt keys that I just cant use VMWare solely with the mouse anymore.

I retried it and can confirm what you say. All the shortcuts work when the mouse is not over the VM screen, and none seems to work when the mouse is over it.

It downgrades that bug to really annoying to midly annoying for me but it's still there. There is no such problem with VMWare in KDE or other WM I tried over the years.

(I can admit the bug might be on VMWare-side though).
