Package: libsane-dev Version: 1.0.19~cvs20071028-1 Severity: normal Running $ sane-find-scanner works correctly The next test advised for a new installation is $ scanimage -L This fails. I followed some advice and installed the following line in hp5590.conf $ echo "usb 0x03F0 0x1705" >/etc/sane.d/hp5590.conf
The program xsane detects the scanner and most features are now fully operational. This includes the automatic document feed (ADF) although there are still some issues with the duplex (double sided) handling that may not be the fault of the backend. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-ver.1.3 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libsane-dev depends on: ii libieee1284-3-dev 0.2.11-3 cross-platform library for paralle hi libjpeg62-dev 6b-14 Development files for the IJG JPEG hi libsane 1.0.19~cvs20071028-1 API library for scanners ii libtiff4-dev 3.8.2-7 Tag Image File Format library (TIF ii libusb-dev 2:0.1.12-8 userspace USB programming library Versions of packages libsane-dev recommends: pn libgphoto2-2-dev <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
