When MPD is actually running, this is normal. It seems that you actually
have an ALSA problem here. I'm adding an additional note to the readme
about standard practices for allowing both the mpd user and your account
to access the sound card simultaneously under ALSA.
Regardless, though, if MPD cannot open an output it should not crash.
Can you send results of running it under strace?
Euh sorry I'm a newbie... How do I run mpd under strace ?...
I have enabled the verbose log output...but there is nothing concerning
en error in it...the log just stop when mpd crashes...
For some application there is a -dbg package, is it possible to do one
for mpd ?
