I'm not sure why you're closing this bug: we haven't yet established that 
there's anything wrong with the header of the files I'm talking about. In 
particular, as I originally stated, mp3info reports the correct length, and 
as far as I'm aware it doesn't process the whole file.

If you can tell me what I should look for, I'd be happy to investigate 
further.
