I'm going through old bugs filed against the Debian OpenAFS package and ran across this bug that you filed a bit more than a year ago: | Package: openafs-client | Version: 1.2.9-1 | | On my alpha workstation running a 2.4.19 kernel patched for XFS support, | the openafs module will load successfully, but afsd fails to start with | the following errors: | | afsd: Error -1 in basic initialization. | afsd: Error enabling dynroot support. | afsd: Error enabling fakestat support. | Adding cell 'rl.ac.uk': error -1 The version of OpenAFS in testing is now much newer than this version and incorporates many upstream bug fixes, particularly including portability to different kernel variants. My guess is that this may now be fixed, although I don't have an Alpha to test it out. Could you check the latest packages in Debian testing and see if you're still having this problem?
