Your package is failing to build on some arches because you try to create a shared library and try to link libdialog.a. This is a static non-PIC library, and can't be used to create shared libraries. If you need to link to it, you'll have to ask the dialog maintainer to either create a shared library or a PIC version of the static library, and then link to that version.
