I have tried to setup prism2_usb with WEP support as described on:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Prism2_USB_on_Gentoo
Especially regarding WEP:
"To enable WEP, you have to create a dedicated configuration file for the network you are going to
connect to. First, copy /etc/conf.d/wlancfg-DEFAULT to /etc/conf.d/wlancfg-mynet, where NetworkName
is the name of the network."
But whenever (after there is edited /etc/wlan/wlancfg-mynet) and in /etc/wlan/wlan.conf is added in
the parameter SSID_wlan0="mynet", there is no possibility to start this wlan interface with
"wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable" There is always answer:
ifstate=enable
resultcode=implementation_failure
I have tried it with "opensystem" and also with "sharedkey" but with no success.
With not encrypted connection (no WEP), it has worked everything fine.
