Hello Gerrit,

Sorry to not have replied earlier. You were right about this problem: I
have commited some files tonight in the Git dpkg repository and the
problem did not show up. Either I had a problem in my own copy of the
repository (I had to rebuild it for other reasons) or someone fixed the
problem in the hook script.

So, I close this bug as this was certainly a user error and not a
problem in git.
