Package: bsdutils Version: 1:2.13-8 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/wall
Wall does not work with Debian's kernel 2.6.22. It used to work with 2.6.18. | greg:~# echo test |wall | wall: /dev/ttyp0: No such file or directory With 2.6.22 there is no /dev/ttyp0. I assume that is because 2.6.22 does not use CONFIG_LEGACY_PTYS. When running wall all I get is the error message, nothing is sent to other terminals. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (601, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (480, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-k7 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.ISO-8859-1 (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages bsdutils depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.6+20071013-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand Versions of packages bsdutils recommends: ii bsdmainutils 6.1.7 collection of more utilities from -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
