I've installed the following packages: capplets-data_2.20.1-1_all.deb gnome-control-center_2.20.1-1_i386.deb gnome-session_2.20.1-1_i386.deb libgnome-window-settings1_2.20.1-1_i386.deb libpanel-applet2-0_2.20.1-1_i386.deb Worked like a charm! Default ALSA device can now be configured to pulse type. Multimedia keys respect default mixer settings. Thanks.
