Comments/Problems:

Hi,

DHCP network configuration fails with message "No DHCP
client was found. This package requires pump or
dhcp-client."

CTRL-ALT-F4 console reads (among other cryptic
messages) :
main-menu [9246]: WARNING **: Configuring 'netcfg'
failed with error code 1
and
main-menu [1753]: DEBUG: resolver (dhcp-client-udeb):
package doesn't exist (ignored)

CTRL-ALT-F1 console reads nothing looking relevant.

Then I configured network as fixed-IP using
IP/mask/gw/dns and name/domain retrieved from the
existing system (IP is bound to my network card MAC
adress). Configuration was OK but ineffective : d-i
could not retrieve anything from ftp.fr.debian.org,
and "wget http://www.debian.fr"; in the CTRL-ALT-F2
console yields "host name lookup failure" after a
while.

I have been surfing the debian-boot mailing list
archive, but could not find anything related. Do you
have any idea about this strange problem ?

Thanks !

bertrand
