Package: docdiff Version: 0.3.3-1 Severity: normal Tags: patch --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Docdiff currently reports all changes in a file, including whitespace changes. This crouds out important changes. For example, if you add one word to a paragraph, rejustifying the document could mean the entire paragraph gets flagged as being changed.
This patch http://www.econ.upenn.edu/~clausen/computing/docdiff-patch makes docdiff ignore whitespace changes. This second patch http://www.econ.upenn.edu/~clausen/computing/docdiff-wordwrap-patch makes this change optional through a new --wordwrap option, which is the new default. (The old behaviour can be accessed with --word. I think it makes sense to leave the old behaviour as an option for people who don't word-wrap their text documents. These people would suffer much less whitespace change pollution.) --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-14-386 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 gutsy-updates us.archive.ubuntu.com 500 gutsy-security security.ubuntu.com 500 gutsy us.archive.ubuntu.com --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===============================-+-=========== ruby1.8 | 1.8.6.36-1ubuntu3 libiconv-ruby1.8 | -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
