Aurélien found a couple of nasty structure packing & alignment bugs in
libusb, but so far nothing that affects PowerPC (though it's still
WIP, and he can still discover something ;).

The bug-chasing occuring on libusb may or may not fix your problem, so
if you could do some more digging with debug builds of the current
libsane and libusb, it would really help us.
