Luciano,

Thanks for the bug report on KFlickr regarding the thumbnails. KFlickr
does make use of KDE libraries to do quite a few things and so expects
them to be available, running gnome should not be an issue for KFlickr
AFAIK but running it might allow a missing part of the needed KDE
infrastructure to go missed without you noticing.

KFlickr makes use the KIO::PreviewJob in order to retrieve the
thumbnail previews that it displays. Chances are that the failure is
related to this. I obviously run KDE not Gnome and so can't reproduce
the error. I will however try to borrow a friends computer with gnome
installed and try to reproduce the error. The fact that you are
getting the broken file icons indicates to me that the job is
returning with an error. Because of this I am fairly confident that
KFlickr is working correctly and the error is related to the failure
of the KIO::PreviewJob. Again I will try to reproduce this myself
before making any more assumptions.

Thanks again and hopefully we can solve this,
Mark

Hello Mark,
I run an strace of kflickr adding a file.

You can find the complete strace here:

http://ublug.org.ar/pub/kflickr/kflickr.log.4

This lines shows up at the screen of the gnome-terminal:

http://ublug.org.ar/pub/kflickr/kflickr.consola.log.4

I run the program like this:

$ strace -o kflickr.log.4 kflickr

hope it can be usefull.

ps: when you want to see the picture clicking on the magnifier shows up a new windows with the image.

cheers!
