Hello,

well I should provide information on the laptop model where I seen the
behavior that /etc/init.d/ifplugd did not wait until network configuration
was completed.

Its an IBM ThinkPad R51 with the following network card (lspci output):

0000:02:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet
Controller (Mobile) (rev 03)

I tried it here 3 times in a row with an Acer Travelmate 240 and was not able
to reproduce that behaviour. On that laptop /etc/init.d/ifplugd always waited
until network interface configuration was complete.

Well and the IBM ThinkPad R51 now was tested in a different network. Also an
Sony Vaio was tested there and showed the same behaviour
that /etc/init.d/ifplugd did not wait until network configuration has
finished. I can get the hardware details on this one, too.

I will be in holiday next week, so I won't answer any e-mails during that
time.

Regards,
