Package: grub Followup-For: Bug #451701 I'd actually rate this bug as at least "important".
Anyway, one obvious place to add a warning that early GRUB stages need to be updated manually using that "grub-install" usability crap from hell, is the output of update-grub. It is far from obvious that update-grub does not in fact update grub, just its configuration... unless you happen to know quite well how grub works. It really should warn users that one needs grub-install to actually update grub. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.55-debian13+bluesmoke+lm85 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=pt_BR.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.ISO-8859-1 (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
