It can work as a `back end' in pm-hibernate. ... I'm not sure we're understanding each other. In my understanding, on a powermac, the interface /sys/power/state was not working for suspend-to-ram. If I read your e-mails to this report it isn't working for hibernation either. Right? Now, for S3 there were some ioctl that had to be used. This is now in the s2ram binary. Are you saying that for S4 we need something similar (eg. some binary that pokes some ioclts?) If yes, I think we'll have to add that to uswsusp. pm-utils is just a bunch of (arch: all) scripts, that uses the /sys/power/state interface. grts Tim
