It would be nice to supporting parsing .lsm files.
..lsm files contain information useful to uscan such as Version and
Primary-site which is all uscan needs
to know.
At ibiblio.org there's some information on the .lsm-files format[1] (current
version is 4, but AFAIK 3
is very similar).

Supporting these files _could_ (I don't really have any statistical number)
increase the number of
packages using debian/watch files because upstream does provide a .lsm file.

Parsing .lsm files would not provide a great benefit, so it might be better to
support
parsing the whole LSM database[2] but that would be more complicated ;-)

Example/Proposition of a debian/watch file for a package with a .lsm file:
- ---
version=4
http://foot.at.bar/foss/pub/foo/foo.lsm
- ---

Example/Proposition of a debian/watch file indicating a LSM database to be
parsed (for the suck
package):
- ---
version=4
lsmdb+http://lsm.qqx.org/lsm/LSM suck
- ---

Note that on my last example I used 'lsmdb+http', this would make it easier for
uscan to identify the
file format. This is because it is not *possible* (in the above example it is,
but let's better don't
assume anything) to identify the file format by its URI.
Of course 'protocols' like lsmdb+ftp, lsmdb+https should also be possible.

I'm willing to collaborate on the addition of this feature but I don't think I
can do it all by myself
(in a short period of time, because of lack of free time for one more project).
