Package: flwm Version: 1.02-2 Severity: normal Could you please bump flwm's build-dependency on libfltk1.1-dev to (>= 1.1.7-6) [to be uploaded once ftp-master comes back up]?
Here's why: The FLTK pre-1.1.8 packages currently in experimental feature a contributed patch allowing FLTK to supply reasonable core fonts (for those things that need them, such as flwm's rotated titles and text in OpenGL scenes) even when built against XFT 2. However, keeping the fl_xfont variable constantly up-to-date via this new logic turns out to be prohibitively expensive (see #448202) :-/ -- at least if remains a simple pointer. Nevertheless, by turning fl_xfont into a smart pointer that obtains its proper contents on an as-needed basis, it is possible to get the best of both worlds while still maintaining near-perfect API and ABI compatibility. Once ftp-master is back in operation, I will issue a 1.1.7-6 upload turning fl_xfont into a smart pointer but continuing to maintain its contents in the current fashion; subsequent uploads of (pre-)1.1.8 packages will incorporate both patches and conflict with existing versions of flwm, but work with versions built against libfltk1.1-dev 1.1.7-6 or newer.
