Hi Luk,
it seems that there's a problem with the scope of $datadir (and maybe
also of $dist) in subs. I can't get chdist apt-get sid update to work,
for example.
Also, around line 223:

(but I wasn't able to test it fully because of the first problem)

GPL v2 or later is fine with me, as it seems to be the license of most
of devscripts scripts.
