As your gpsd versions is pretty outdated (we'll have a 2.35 release soon) I'd like to ask you to give gpsd 2.34 a try, which is in unstable at the moment. After the next upload there'll also be a version of it in backports.org which you could use to test this, but if you know how to backport a package feel free to do so. I can also provide a package for you - whatever you prefer.
