I can try to improve descriptions and reorganize fields to guide to
more reasonable defaults (what is definitely not AT for Nokia).

Well it is possible, but it's really hard to create such database.
Anyway you will end up with old version of database distributed with
gammu in your distribution and your recent phone would not work.

I know about this. I want to implement test canceling in future, but I
didn't yet get to it.
