Changing make_mysql_tables didn't make any difference for me. Not so strange, considering that the packages uses the dbconfig framework. Unless I misunderstood how dbconfig works, of course. :-)

The change was similar though - I had to remove the first "USE $ {db_name};" line in the file:

/usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/bacula-director-mysql/install/mysql

and then re-run the configuration (dpkg-reconfigure bacula-director- mysql).

I assume it's just a copy-paste error on the package maintainers side. The line also exists in /usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/bacula- director-mysql/upgrade/mysql/*.
