Package: linux-image-2.6.10-5-k7-smp
Version: 2.6.10-34
Severity: important

When booting on a system that has prior run a self-built kernel and
udev, kernel hangs with this text:

- -
RAMDISK: cramfs filesystem found at block 0
RAMDISK: Loading 4528KiB [1 disk] into ramdisk... done.
VFS: Mounted root (cramfs filesystem) readonly
VFS: cannot open root device "hda5" or unknown-block(0,0) Please append
<directions to use root=..>
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount
- -

I'm using following grub configuration to boot that kernel:
- -
title Linux 2.6.10-5-k7-smp
root (hd0,4)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.10-5-k7-smp root=/dev/hda5 elevator=cfq
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.10-5-k7-smp
- -

A Debian kernel 2.6.11-1-k7-smp boots fine with exactly same parameters.

One quirk in itself is that after that panic, when I use Power button to
shut down the system, it won't start when I press Power button again. It
needs full power-disconnect to start again.

Thanks.
