Package: udev Running a Pentium II with a scanner on the parallel port & a USB printer. The printer is a HP1018. I appreciate there is a problem with the firmware with the HP1018 & could initialize the printer by sending a script to the /dev/usb port of the printer. A few weeks ago I upgraded udev & now get no /dev/usb entries, only some /dev/usb entries in a new format - none of which I can access with the technique I used before! I use cups & now it does not see the printer, whereas before it did! Any ideas?
