The script /usr/bin/gdmthemetester always fails with the following error:
GDM Theme Tester
Be sure to test all the environments:
console, console-timed, flexi, remote-flexi, xdmcp
Also be sure to test using caps lock
ERROR: Xnest not found
Editing /usr/bin/gdmthemetester one sees the following three lines:
XNEST=`gdmwhich Xnest`
GDMXNEST=`gdmwhich gdmXnest`
GDMGREETER="/usr/lib/gdm/gdmgreeter"
Looking for the binary gdmwhich in debian etch (using for instance the webpage
interface) one sees that it does not exist, hence XNEST is always empty
making the script fail later on.
So I tried setting an alias:
alias gdmwhich=which
This fails also because there is no Xnest binary anywhere.
Looking for a xnest binary in debian etch I find one in the package
xnest but that package is not a dependency of gdm, shouldn't it be?
Also there does not seem to be any gdmXnest binary in debian etch.
So even if the previous things get fixed there is still a problem with
gdmthemetester.
