I updated the file package on 2007-07-30 and the error messages came back again :
perhaps you should definitely remove the support of x-tex and x-inform to avoid modyfing manually /usr/share/file/magic.mime after every update, or at least offer the possibility to not replace this file if it has been modyfied by the user...
