Ugh. Thank you for pointing this out. I accepted a patch to build 32-bit libraries on 64-bit platforms, and I have had nothing but trouble. I should have studied it more carefully. I'll fix this and make sure that everything is really the way it is supposed to be. I'll also apply this patch to 3.8.
