Package: cpufrequtils Version: 002-5 Severity: normal I have an Intel Q6600. The cpufrequtils package uses the file /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils. I had to change first non-comment lines to ENABLE="true" GOVERNOR="ondemand" MAX_SPEED="2400000" MIN_SPEED="1600000" to get it to work properly. Note that frequencies are in kHz, not in MHz. The default speeds were both 0. In the top of the file, a proposed setting is presented which indicates that the values should be in MHz. I do not know where and if this is an error, but I would have been a bit happier if frequency scaling had worked right out of the box.
