No, there weren't any bug reports because by that time it still wasn't a bug. As a matter of fact, it is not yet a bug. http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2005/03/msg00061.html was one of the first relevant messages. A follow up was Cc'ed to your .d.o address asking for feedback. Sorry about the misrepresentation (you were Cc'ed, debian-perl was in the To field, not the other way around, as I wrongly stated). http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2005/04/msg00003.html is a followup to that, and that one was Cc'ed to you, too.
