Umkay, I am sorry.
Apparently this is a probably a GNOME/X issue as I have just observed that I get the same effect when GNOME reports my battery being fully charged. I didn't noticed it before as I haven't unplugged the power cord.
I undertsand now is some kind of notification issue, which I will have to guess who is to be blamed. Any help is appreciated :-)
