Package: alsa-base Version: 1.0.8-7 Severity: normal Due to the install lines in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base, served by alsa-base, module options passed to modprobe will not be passed to insmod. This prevents legacy probing (in my case cs4236 on an IBM Thinkpad 600E) with alsaconf. Example:
install snd-cs4236 modprobe --ignore-install snd-cs4236 && /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install snd-cs4236 Since there is no option line for snd-cs4236 (i'd like to have one with the help of alsaconf...), probing will fail. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages alsa-base depends on: ii alsa-utils 1.0.8-4 ALSA utilities ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.8.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii lsof 4.74.dfsg.3-2 List open files. ii module-init-tools 3.2-pre1-2 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii modutils 2.4.26-1.2 Linux module utilities -- debconf information: alsa-base/alsactl_store_on_shutdown: never autosave -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
